Launch of The EV Café Live at ITT Hub 2021

Online business community networking destination The EV Café will be live at ITT Hub 2021, located in the centre of the exhibition hall.

Launched during the first phase of lockdown, The EV Café shares experiences on zero emission mobility by connecting the EV sector with industry experts and leaders from around the globe. A monthly two hour virtual breakout session takes place online, covering a wide range of topics from across the whole mobility value chain.

The online show is gaining support with over 500 regular followers and was recently shortlisted for an IT Innovation Award by Greenfleet TV (taking place 2 December). Regular hosts include Jonny Berry, Paul Kirby, Sam Clarke, Sara Sloman, Mathew Kizuik and John Curtis. Invited guests join the show to discuss key topics which have included access to vehicle charging, electric and hydrogen powered trucks, infrastructure developments and OEM news.

Bringing its very own Top Gear style show, The EV Café will be going on the road, with its first stop being at ITT Hub on 30th June and 1st July. A branded café will be created in the heart of the exhibition, with three live shows each day, tackling the hot topics of the moment.

“We set up The EV Café as a way of communicating with like-minded people online, who were missing the interaction of face to face collaboration and discussion through lockdown,” says Jonny Berry, founder of The EV Café.

“We are amazed at the interest which we have from across the globe at our regular sessions.

“The EV Café has become a lively, progressive group of passionate EV professionals who are helping to drive change through collaboration and discussion

“Having an opportunity to take the show on the road to ITT Hub was too good to miss We are really excited about the prospect of turning The EV Café into a real live event with real coffee!”

Launch of new podcast series: Talking Net Zero

ITT Hub News has also announced the launch of a series of branded podcasts, Talking Net Zero hosted by Sara Sloman.

Sara Sloman is the Zero Emission Mobility lead within the Energy and Infrastructure team at leading law firm, Foot Anstey LLP. Sara has 15 years’ experience of working with energy and infrastructure projects in the public and private sector. She offers a unique insight into both sides of the matter and how best to join forces and collaborate to help the UK reach net zero.

Sara Sloman commented: “Mark Griffin, CEO ITT Hub and I began discussions about the need for an uplifting and light-hearted podcast, centred around the energy and infrastructure debate, with collaboration at the heart of the discussion. The result is our Taking net Zero podcast series. My guests come from a broad base of friends and colleagues, including Linda Grave, CEO of EV Driver and Plug N Go, and Edward Sargent, Business Development Director of PivotPower. I will also be talking to Gill Nowell, DSO Lead and EV advocate at ElectraLink, with more lined up from energy companies, EV charging operators and infrastructure providers, academics and public figures.”

Explaining the announcements, Mark Griffin, CEO ITT Hub said: “The rapid rise in popularity of The EV Café led by Jonny Berry has been brilliant. This simple online idea has captured the hearts and minds of many industry people who are passionate about having a forum for influencing the zero-emission debate. It will be fantastic to host the show and bring it to ITT Hub next summer for visitors to experience and enjoy as part of their visit.”

Mark Griffin continued: “Industry engagement is absolutely vital for any event. We are thrilled that Sara has come on board with Talking Net Zero to share her knowledge and experiences with leading experts in the run up to the event in this latest addition to our news channel’s podcast series. We are determined to have interesting, fun and informative content as part of our strategy, with net zero at the core of our event”

Since announcing the new dates, the organisers report strong interest from potential exhibitors wishing to take part, with over 120 exhibitors having reserved stands to date.
