City Circle poised to take delivery of its 100th Scania Irizar
City Circle (UK) Limited has placed an order for 20 Scania Irizar coaches for delivery in 2020.
Of these, the first delivered will be the 100th Scania Irizar vehicle to be taken by City Circle (UK), and as such will represent a significant milestone in the companies' premium partnership.
All 20 coaches in the order are for Scania Irizar i6S models, of which 18 will be tri-axles with the remaining two based on 4x2 chassis.
The 18 tri-axle vehicles will be built on Scania's K 410 6x2*4 rear-steer chassis and equipped with Scania's 410 horsepower engine and fully automated Opticruise gear selection system.
Their Irizar i6S bodywork will be 13.2-metres overall length and will feature 53 luxurious reclining seats with leather and extra padded flaps.
The passenger seats will further benefit from having seat back tables, magazine nets and footrests ,and the body will be finished with extra dark tinted double glazing.
A sunken toilet/washroom and Frenzel kitchen will be located at the centre continental exit. Additional features include, reversing and road cameras, integrated satellite navigation and Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels.
The remaining two coaches will be based on Scania's K 360 4x2 chassis fitted with Scania's 360 horsepower engine and fully automated Opticruise gear selection system.
Their 10.8-metre overall length Irizar i6S bodywork will incorporate 36 reclining seats with half-leather trim and fully furnished seat back facilities for passenger comfort.
There will be a rear floor-mounted toilet/washroom, and an extensive servery at the rear of the coach with built in units for fridges and drinks facilities fitted by AD Coach Systems. Additional specification includes satellite navigation, twin monitors, dark tinted glass and Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels.
