Fuso's electric light truck does 1,000,000km on the road
The Fuso eCanter has just achieved one million kilometres in operation.
The world's first all-electric light-duty truck is operated in seven cities across three continents.
Launched in September 2017, there are 150 eCanters in operation so far, with more set for delivery.
They are operating in London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Lisbon, New York and Tokyo, running an average distance of 30-80km per day.
Data and feedback on their operation, route profiles and charging characteristics is being collected by parent company Daimler, to develop the vehicle's next generation.
Produced in Kawasaki, Japan and Tramagal, Portugal, the 7.5-tonne eCanter has a range of 100km.
Hartmut Schick, President & CEO at Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation and Head of Daimler Trucks Asia, says: “With more than one million kilometres driven in daily operations in seven cities on three continents, our FUSO eCanter has proven its reliability and series production capability.
“At the same time, we are obtaining valuable information for the development of the next generation.
“Fuso thus continues to underscore its pioneering role in the field of electric-powered commercial vehicles."
